Eleven research administrators of Carlos
Hilado Memorial State College bested about three hundred presenters all over
the world during the recently concluded World Research Festival at Marco Polo
Plaza Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines, August 22-25.
CHMSC researchers from Talisay and
Binalbagan campus garnered awards and recognition from International
Association of Multidisciplinary Research (IAMURE). They were as follows: World
Research Productivity Award –Dr. Renato B. Salmingo, VP for Research and
Extension; Diamond Award-Arlene M. Ebalde-CHMSC-Talisay, Mary Joy Tabayan and
Imee Perante-Binalbagan; Platinum Award-Andrew Ordonio, Mario Abeto, Archel
Bedaure, Rosebella Malo-Binalbagan and Lovelyn Layson-CHMSC-Talisay; Gold
Award-Noel Lebrilla and Daisy Carian, Binalbagan.
Dr. Salmingo, on his awarded output
entitled “Research Capability Building Program of CHMSC”, brought CHMSC
Community towards a continuous development.
The said research festival aims to give
prominence to the significant role of research discovery in transforming our
civilization towards a better world and to recognize researches and research
leaders in the scientific community.
Moreove, Dr. Jenaro Japos, President of
IAMURE from (Liceo de Cagayan University) spearheaded the event with the theme
“Research that Changes the World” convened by the State Universities and
Colleges (SUCs), Private and Public State Colleges, different countries such as
Canada, Germany, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Iran,
India, and Pakistan.
Dr. Djuwari of Perbanas Surbaya, Indonesia
was the Chairman of the Board and Judges during the event. Together with Dr.
Salmingo were Melchor Magram-John B. Labson Colleges Foundation, Arevalo
Campus, Rolando Alimen-John B. Lacson Maritime University Foundation, Molo,
Philippines, Oliva P. Canencia-Mindanao University of Science and Technology,
Cagayan de Oro, Philippines were among the presenters who likewise garnered
awards.
“I’m happy because the fruits of our labor
in pursuing the research capability in building programs was well materialized
and thus, achieved.” Dr. Salmingo, disclosed an interview.
