SIX TECHNOBRATS ATTEND PIA JOURN WORKSHOP

            To enhance and test journalistic skills of every young writer, the College sent six Technopacer new staff to the second batch of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Basic Journalism Seminar and Workshop held at the confines of Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City, August 8-10.

The College Pub’s new staff namely Rogein Nicole Abadiano, Joahna Aseral, Jessie Cris Bebit, Norelie Ann Canencia, Legion Lara, and Romela Christy Magturo were sent to attend in the said event and participate in different writing contests both in Filipino and English category. Meanwhile, Aseral and Magturo garnered Most Promising in Copy Reading-Filipino and Sports Writing-English respectively. 

The PIA under the Presidential Communications Operations Office spearheaded the workshop with the collaboration of Ms. Elsa Subong, Training-in-charge and Atty. Ma. Janet C. Mesa Ph.D, Regional Director.
Media practitioners in Western Visayas discussed various journalism topics such as the Development Communication (Dev. Com), the Basic Tools in Copy Reading, Newsletter, and Wall News as communication and info tool, photojournalism techniques and notes on Publication Design and Online Journalism sponsored by SMART.
The giving of Certificate of Recognition to the awardees marked the last part of the three-day seminar-workshop.*Romela Christy Magturo
